Who Needs Backflow Certification?
All commercial properties are required to have an appropriate backflow prevention device installed. In our area, PA American Water, Aqua America, and SUEZ Water are responsible for ensuring that effective backflow prevention measures are in place with all of their commercial customers.
All commercial buildings require a backflow prevention device to be installed at each public potable water service entrance. The backflow prevention devices are required by law to be tested annually to ensure cross contamination does not occur in the potable public water main.
Peters Consultants, Inc. is an American Society of Sanitary Engineering (ASSE) certified backflow assembly testers ready to help. As a state-certified backflow assembly tester, we will work with you to ensure your system meets all legal requirements. Don’t have a backflow device installed? We can provide inspection, consultation and installation of reliable products.
How Is Backflow Prevented?
Backflow is prevented by installing a backflow prevention device. Several different types exist but all backflow prevention devices require annual inspection and maintenance to ensure they continue working as designed.
