PENNDOT Liquid Fuel/CDBG Projects

Peters Consultants, Inc. was awarded a series of design projects for the Borough of Berwick utilizing liquid fuel grants and CDBG grants, to upgrade and improve many of the Borough’s streets. A total of 44 streets were selected for improvements over the last 10 years.

GATEWAY PARK – BERWICK, PENNSYLVANIA

The purpose of the project was to create a more attractive entrance to the Berwick Central Business district and to provide a more pedestrian friendly access to and from the lot. The ramp and railing system installed provide handicap access and improved pedestrian access from the lot to Front Street.   Streetlights provide better lighting for pedestrians walking during the later hours, and the lights are ornamental.

WAL-MART and LOWE’S SITE – Highway Design, Land Development and Surveying

This project involved major changes to the I-80 off-ramp, east bound and on ramp, east bound, at the Buckhorn Mall in Hemlock Township, PA as well as extreme site development.

Our services included traffic signal relocation and major intersection adjustment with Route 42/I-80 to serve the proposed 200-acre commercial mall site. All design was approved by PENNDOT and the Federal Highway Administration.

SANITARY SEWER AND STORM WATER SEPERATION PROJECT

The Oak Street Sanitary Sewer and Storm Water Separation Project designed by Peters Consultants, Inc is now underway between Susquehanna Avenue and Third Street in Berwick Borough. The project is being completed by the Berwick Area Joint Sewer Authority as the first phase of an approximate 20 million dollar project to separate combined sanitary/storm water throughout the Borough.
